Hi all! I hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving!
I didn’t have a Chic of the Week on Friday because I was busy Black Friday shopping, wrapping presents & spending time with family! I figured you all were busy doing the same things so you wouldn’t miss me too much 😉
I wanted to take this chance to just catch you guys up a bit on my life & talk about gratefulness. I know I’m a little behind because Thanksgiving was last week, but I think it’s a great time to talk about all that I have to be thankful for & why you should too 🙂
These pictures are actually from a few years ago & it was an impromptu photo shoot with one of my friends, but they turned out so good. At the time, my friend was a freshman here at ASU & I remember asking her a ton of questions because I still had no idea what to do with my life or where I was even going to college! As I was studying the pics, I also saw how bad my skin was & remember that my confidence was so low because of it. But I have changed so much since then & become way more confident, breakouts or not 🙂 And I’m also so, so happy with where I am, so it gets better!!
I went home to my small town for Thanksgiving to be with my family. As much as I disliked living in a small town at times, I have grown to appreciate it & the friendships it gave me way more since starting college.
My brother is in Hawaii for school & some of my other family is across the country so this year’s Thanksgiving dinner was a little different, but we did get to FaceTime those that couldn’t be there in real time & it was actually really fun & reminded me that no distance is too far when you care about someone!! It’s so easy to get caught up in how different life is & start to miss what you used to have, but I think it’s important to do the best you can in any new situation & look at the bright side. I love traditions & wouldn’t say that change makes me super happy, but I’m working on my go-with-the-flow attitude more.
Jacob & I are celebrating 3 years together in January! We are also turning 20!! Both are so crazy, but exciting at the same time. Sometimes I wish more than ever that we were at the same school & long distance can be sooo hard, but it’s worth it when we do get to see each other. I’m so grateful for him & the person he is in my life. And I always have to remind myself that, “what’s meant to be will be.”
I only have 2 weeks of school left! I have finals next week… prayers please haha. But then I’m gonna go on a little road trip, spend time with my friends & family, work a little bit, blog A LOT, (blogmas?) & do all the stuff I don’t have time to do when I have school! I’m super excited to just relax. And maybe finally binge watch the rest of Pretty Little Liars.
Anyway, good luck to all of those having finals soon 🙂 don’t forget to slow down for a bit & think about everything you have to be thankful for. It’s probably more than you realize.
What are you guys grateful for? Let me know in the comments or on social media!
