Vegan Banana Bread

Hi guys!

I finally had some free time this past weekend, plus some old bananas to use up sooo I made vegan banana bread!! I hardly ever buy bananas so it’s not something I would normally make, but I had gotten them for another recipe & decided to try something new! Growing up my grandma made the BEST banana bread & sometimes I just get a random craving for it. This didn’t turn out as good as hers, but for being vegan & only a few ingredients it hit the spot!

Ingredients: 4 bananas

1/4 cup olive oil

1 tsp vanilla extract

3 tbsp almond milk

1 & 3/4 cups flour

1/2 – 1/2 cups brown sugar

1/2 tsp sea salt

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp cinnamon

Prep time: 15 minutes

Serves: 4

So I actually halved the recipe because I only had 2 bananas, but it still turned out! I will link the original Pinterest recipe so I don’t repeat the steps, but it only took me about 15 minutes to put together! I baked it for 35 minutes & the consistency is perfect. It definitely needs something for added sweetener, so maybe even try adding agave or maple syrup for added flavor!

Chic of the Week

Hey guys! Happy Friday!

I’m comin at ya with another Fabletics post! Is anyone surprised? lol But they seriously have the cutest workout outfits & I feel like it’s a good way to show you guys what they send me! Hopefully in a couple of weeks I’ll have a cute spring outfit to share because I just got the CUTEST dress from Luca & Grae & I bought it specifically for Easter! Easter is one of my favorite holidays because it’s the perfect excuse to buy a new outfit & eat chocolate in the morning 🙂

So this outfit is definitely my favorite from Fabletics so far. Maybe its just because of the pink leggings 😉 but it is so comfy & cute. I’ve already worn the leggings to class & just for hangin out because they are so soft. The bra is also sooo comfy. It has adjustable straps which is so nice & there is just enough coverage to not feel too exposed hahah. The jacket is perfect for working out. It’s form fitting, comfortable & so flattering! I can’t wait for winter hikes in it!

MyClarins Vegan Skincare Review

Hi guys!

Today I’m comin’ at you with a beauty post! I feel like it’s been a minute since I’ve written one of these, but I tried out some new products & thought I would share! I worked with MyClarins to try out their new vegan skincare line & lemme tell you, I’m obsessed. For one, their packaging & aesthetic is amazing. Very minimalistic & cute. They sent me tiny samples & I’m so happy because I’m always needing mini beauty items for when I travel!

My favorite product in the new line is the micellar water or hydrating cream. I have become a HUGE fan of micellar water because it helps get all of my makeup off. I’ll actually use it in the morning right after waking up to refresh my skin, but a lot of times there’s still leftover makeup from the day before, & that’s after cleansing & using toner before bed. (Trust me, ya girl needs her night creams). The hydrating cream feels so light on my skin & I like it for when I just want light protection throughout the day if I’m just hangin out. I always use my SPF on days I’m out & about or going to be outside at all, period! They also have a purifying gel cleanser, hydrating mist & sleep mask. The mist is so refreshing & I like to use it to finish off my makeup look, or even a bare face day. My friend tried the sleep mask & said her skin felt sooo soft the next morning. All of the products smell amazing as well, which is a super plus!

You can find all these products online at clarinsusa.com or at Ulta!

Chic of the Week + 12 Things

Hi guys! Happy Friday!

I have another Fabletics look to share today! This outfit is one of the comfiest & simple for sure, so it’s great for working out or honestly just lounging around! The top is a pretty peach pastel just in time for spring! The leggings are super warm and soft, so if you live somewhere cold they’d actually be great for layering.

Since this post is so short, I’ll do a quick 12 Things!

1.) The semester is almost over!! We have about 4 weeks & the amount of stuff I have to do before then is overwhelming.

2.) I’m probably moving at the end of the summer! Excited to finally get a place for myself!

3.) My allergies have been so bad this week! It’s finally spring time in AZ & I’m loving it, but I have to drug myself everyday just to get through. If anyone has any natural ways to help allergies, send them my way.

4.) I’ve been trying new recipes recently & loving it! I have so many Pinterest recipes saved, but never want to put in the effort to actually make something. But now that school will be out soon, I’m hoping my evenings can be filled with cooking instead of homework.

5.) I dyed my hair blonde!! Idk if you can tell in this pic, but my hairstylist did an amazing job blending it to look natural. Next time I really want to go for the blonde of Jaci Marie Smith. She’s the cutest human ever.

6.) I’m currently reading Michelle Obama’s book Becoming. It’s so interesting & she’s a really great writer.

7.) I’m also watching This is Us for the first time & it has me so emotional!

8.) Hawaii was amazing & I want to go back. Everyone thinks I live there now because I was posting a bunch of pictures on my trip & I was like, yeah, I WISH. You can read all about my trip here!

9.) I did a quick interview/Q&A with Arizona Foothills magazine! You can read my piece here.

10.) I went to my first hockey game last week! It was very cold & there was a fight, but still a fun experience.

11.) If you live in AZ go check out Wonderspaces! I was actually in one of their ads for an art display & I went to the preview night & there were so many interesting art installations! There were a couple of virtual reality exhibits & it was sooo crazy.

12.) I have to go study for a marketing test now so byyyeee.

Peanut Butter Banana Nice Cream

Happy Monday!!

I’m sharing a recipe with you guys today! It’s been a minute, but I really want to start sharing more recipes because I want to try new things more often! I get in ruts of eating the same thing over & over while my Pinterest foodie boards get overflowed with new ideas.

I’m sharing a yummy “nice cream” recipe today just in time for hot spring & summer days. I made this using my newish Ninja food processor & I am OBSESSED. Invest in one if you haven’t already because it’s truly magical. I’ve been using it for so many things & the possibilities are endless!

Okay, so now for the recipe…

Ingredients: 3 bananas

1tbsp maple Syrup

1tbsp sugar

1/2 cup peanut butter

1 pinch salt

1/4 cup almond milk (or non-dairy milk of your choice)

Prep time: 10 minutes

Serves: 4

It’s soo easy to make! Just chop up the banana & freeze it. Then add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor & TA-DA you have healthyish ice cream!!

So I originally found this recipe on Pinterest, but I modified it a bit because it called for non-dairy chocolate chips & I couldn’t find any, so I added shredded coconut instead! I also added sugar because it needed something more… but you can definitely play around with it & add whatever you want!!

Chic of the Week

Hi guys!! Happy Friday!

This week’s outfit of the week is one of my favorites for summer! It’s from my favorite online shop Luca + Grae. I got it about a year ago actually so unfortunately it’s out of stock, but I thought I would share something similar & to introduce you guys to Luca + Grae cuz it’s seriously the best! I brought this romper to Hawaii with me & it’s perfect to throw on & go. The tie front detail adds a little fun & the print is so summery!

I posted a Hawaii/spring break recap on Monday so make sure to go check that out for more Hawaii pics & a little story time behind this acai bowl here…

Spring Break 2019 Recap

IMG_9401

Guys! I’m back!! I took an unintentional like, month long break. But this post will be all about my spring break trip to Oahu, Hawaii!!

This was my second visit to the island of Oahu & I am just as in love with it as the first time! My brother is super lucky & actually lives there, so I am excited for lots of future visits, but also wanting to explore other islands!

I went with my roommate & her friend this time around & we got to see some things that I missed last time I went which was nice. We stayed downtown Waikiki, which I highly recommend doing because you’re literally so close to everything. We stayed at Ohana Waikiki East & the Hilton & both were within walking distance to Waikiki beach & all the tourist shops, places to eat & the mall(s).

Our first night there we were tired from a long day of travel & had to watch the Bachelor finale! (This season omg). But when we landed we went to the Ala Moana Center for some food. It’s a huge mall in the middle of the city, so I’d suggest making your way there at some point. They sometimes have shows going on, like last time I saw a hula dance! If nothing else, there is an international food court with lots of yummy options.

One thing on my must-do list was a waterfall hike. A popular hike is the Monoa Falls Trail. The waterfall itself is honestly not as impressive as I thought it would be, but it’s still a beautiful, somewhat easy hike. There is also a fence surrounding the actual falls, so to get the best pics & stuff you gotta break the rules. 😉 Diamond Head is another hike that we did. It’s super famous & has amazing views of the city & ocean!

We had lots of good eats on this trip too, which made my inner foodie soo happy. Every morning we tried out a new coffee shop, & some of my favs were Island Vintage Coffee & Kai Coffee. Island Vintage also looked like it had amazing, colorful food, plus super cute mugs. If you’re anything like me, you’ll wanna stop there for a souvenir mug (or two). For places to eat, we tried the famous UDON Ramen that is only in Waikiki & Japan!! It was sooo good. If you’re a ramen lover, 10/10 recommend. But it’s usually super crowded, so I would suggest going in the middle of the afternoon like we did to avoid a long line! We also tried Maui Brewing Company, Buhio Waikiki, Mahaloha Burger, & Cheeseburger in Paradise.

This time around I made it to North Shore! I HIGHLY recommend finding a way up there because the drive itself is so pretty. We stopped in Haleiwa, a small town on the North Shore to look around in the shops. We also made it to the Sunrise Shack, which is the cutest little smoothie/acai stand on the side of the road.

STORYTIME: So the Sunrise Shack was the one thing I realllyyy wanted to visit because I wanted a cute picture & an acai bowl. By the time we got there I was so hungry, so I ordered a large acai bowl. Jay Alvarez, the Instagram famous photographer was there in front of us in line! He was with his girlfriend(?). Anyway, I was waiting around for my acai bowl for about half an hour & finally I went & asked them about it & they scrambled to make it, BUT I think that Jay Alvarez’s girlfriend TOOK my acai bowl. She has since taken a photo with it & posted it on Instagram & it’s gotten 50,000 plus likes, so at least I can say my acai bowl is famous. In the moment I was hangry, but it’s a pretty funny story to tell!!

On our North Shore day we also stopped by the Dole Plantation to get some dole whip & Green World Coffee Farm. If you’re a coffee lover, make sure to stop there & get free samples & smell alll the yummy bean juice. 🙂 We also spent time on the beach in North Shore & it was way less crowded than Waikiki beach.

It was another amazing trip & I’m seriously already trying to figure out when I can go back!! It is such a gorgeous place to visit & relax.

February Favorites

Hi guys!

I wanted to share some products & things I’ve been loving recently! I don’t know if I will make this a monthly thing, like monthly favorites, or a seasonal thing… we’ll see! But I have a lot that I want to share so I will definitely break it up into a few posts.

So the thing that actually made me want to write this post is my jade roller. Guys. It is worth the hype. My skin has actually been more clear than usual. Not only that, but it feels amazing. I do it every night as the last step of my skincare routine & it relaxes me so much. I was skeptical about how rolling something on my face would be beneficial in any way, but I think it has helped my breakouts, while also tightening my skin & just feeling goooooddd. I also didn’t want to spend a ton of money to get a “real” jade roller, but I got mine off of Amazon for less than $20.

Okay second thing is a teddy bear coat. They are all over this season as a chic & comfy way to stay warm. I got mine from Nordstrom Rack, but they are pretty much everywhere. I get so many compliments when I wear mine & it is seriously sooo cozy.

One thing I wanted to work on this year was mediation. For me, I was always intimidated by the idea of sitting still for even five minutes & thinking about nothing. My brain is always moving 50000 miles per hour, being one step ahead. Taking time to sit & do nothing sounded like anxiety waiting to happen. But one of my coworkers actually told me about this app called Simple Habit, that has guided meditations. I think I mentioned it in one of my “12 Things” posts. It is seriously a great tool to get into meditation. I do it every morning & I feel like I actually accomplished something before even getting out of bed. If you’ve been wanting to try mediation, but are also a little skeptical, I totally recommend this app!

Along the lines of self improvement, I recently read the book “You Are a Badass”. I’ve been wanting to read it for awhile now & it was so worth it! One of those books where I wanted to memorize every line because it held so much truth. I was just like PREACH GIRL the whole time I was reading it.

Another beauty product that I just love is the St. Torpez Bronzing Mousse. There is nothing like a natural tan, which I plan on getting once it warms up, but this tanning mousse works wonders in the cold months! I’m 10x more confident when I have a tan & this product has helped me achieve that summer glow that I’m missing right about now…. It’s a little pricey, but I only apply it once a week & it lasts for a few months so I’d say it’s a good investment 🙂

Chic of the Week

Hi guys! Happy Friday!

This week’s outfit of the week is details on my birthday outfit! I got this super cute pink overall dress at a boutique in Flagstaff, but never had the chance to wear it because its been so cold! I obviously can’t link the same one I have, but I’ll link something similar because everyone needs pink overalls in their life! The sweater is a favorite of mine that I’ve had for years. Its warm & goes with anything. Perfect for layering too! The necklace is also a favorite of mine that I put on whenever I want to dress up an outfit & add some style. I was wearing my new white booties in this pic too. All items linked down below as usual 🙂

It’s cold & rainy in Phoenix today & I’m loving it! I was getting down about it being so cold, but then I remembered I need to embrace it because it will soon be hot for 8 months! It even snowed in my hometown which it NEVER does.

ALSO, super exciting news!! I just found out this morning that I’ve been nominated for an InfluenceHer award! InfluenceHer is a community of college/young adult blogger gals who are sooo inspiring! I am so happy to be considered because my blog is my passion & I just want to inspire other people & do what I love! You can vote as many times as you want until March 1st. Here’s the link: https://www.influencehercollective.com/awards

As always, thanks for the support!! It means a ton 🙂

Chic of the Week

Hi guys! Happy Friday!

This week’s outfit of the week is part two from last week! I showed you guys one of my outfits from Fabletics last week & this is the second one. It is sooo cutie! I love the colors especially. The leggings have a tie bottom that add such subtle detail & are really great for adjusting the length if you need to. The shirt is really flattering & perfect for working out because it’s so lightweight! I wore this outfit to yoga a couple of times to make sure the shirt didn’t ride up or anything & I had zero problems! So comfy & easy to move in. I will link the outfit down below! I’m an extra small in the bottoms & a small in the top for reference 🙂

In other news… spring break is in 2 weeks! I can’t believe it! It’s still so cold outside I can’t imagine wanting to be in a bathing suit so soon, but here we are! I’m so excited & I can’t wait to get lots of good blog content!
