Chic of the Week + 12 Things

Hi guys! Happy November!!

This week’s outfit of the week is one of my favorite pieces in my closet. I got it at Target (SURPRISE) for work, but have ended up wearing it to class, events, night out… what can an LBD not do?? The shoes are my famous Tuccis lol so basically my whole outfit is from Target, but I don’t think anyone is surprised by that.

A little 12 Things since it’s a new month & this post is so short…

1.) It’s finally cooling off in Phoenix. YAY!

2.) I went to the library last week & got a library card for the first time since I was little. It’s been my goal to read more because I’m just really trying to be a more zen person & there are so many good books out there! I used to love reading as a kid, so I’m gonna make an effort to read instead of Netflix all the time.

3.) I carved my first pumpkin ever this year! I made a kitty. You can find the post here.

4.) This year for Halloween I was a trophy wife & I wore a fake ring & yet so many people thought it was real hahaha yeah I’m NOT engaged.

5.) I tried aerial yoga for the first time a month ago! It was so fun, but takes lots of coordination.

6.)  I also went to my first NFL game a couple of months ago. It was so fun!! Football is actually my favorite sport to watch & I got to see my favorite team play. (Go Seahawks!) They won. 🙂

7.) It is officially Christmas season. Don’t hate, just turn on Christmas music & be happy.

8.) The one thing I really, really want for Christmas is an espresso machine. Because I am not afraid to admit that caffeine has lost it’s affect, so we are moving onto bigger drugs – shots of espresso.

9.) I’m going to visit my bestie up north next weekend & to say I’m excited is an understatement! I haven’t seen her in so long & it’s actually cold where she is so I’m just excited to wear a coat & be cute.

10.) I turn 21 in January!! It doesn’t seem real honestly. I feel 12.

11.) Yesterday was World Vegan Day, meaning it’s been a year since I decided to go vegan! I am planning on writing a post all about it, but it has been one of the best things I’ve done for myself.

12.) I’m currently listening to Justin Bieber’s Christmas album, baking pumpkin seeds, & drinking pumpkin spice. Life is good.

Pumpkin Carving 101

Hi guys!

Today we are throwing it back to 2015 blogging with a DIY. I haven’t done one of these in so long & yet there’s an entire section I have devoted to DIYs. I honestly love crafting & using Pinterest for ideas, I just usually don’t have a ton of time. BUT since it’s fall, I made the time to carve a pumpkin! It was actually my first time ever & I’d have to say it didn’t go too bad! I actually had to look up the steps to carve a pumpkin (yikes) so I thought I would help you guys out & do a little how-to if you’re just as unsure as I was.

For mine, I made a cat, but you can do whatever design you want! The steps are the same no matter what you decide to do with it.

1.) Pick out a pumpkin.

The larger the better if you’re new at this whole thing.

2.) Wash the pumpkin.

3.) Use a sharpie to draw a circle around the top & then cut out the circle using a sharp knife.

4.) Clean out all of the insides & save the seeds for a recipe!

I used a combination of a spoon & a knife for this step & it worked pretty well.

5.) Draw your design.

This is where you get to be creative!

6.) Carve out your design using a sharp knife or similar tool.

Depending on how fancy you get, you might need some power tools, but I would suggest not going for that right away, because this is just pumpkin carving 101. I used a knife & it worked fine!

7.) Clean out any excess pumpkin & seeds.

8.) Put a battery powered candle inside & TA-DA!!

Chic of the Week

Hey guys!

As I was trying to figure out which outfit to post, I realized I didn’t dress that cute this week! And it’s been warm again so I haven’t been able to wear any sweaters 😦 I’ve mentioned this t-shirt dress before & it’s seriously so easy to throw on & still look cute! I paired it with the coziest cardigan that I own to try & act like it’s fall lol I think everyone should own a cardigan like this because it’s so warm!

Last weekend was the busiest weekend of my life, so I’m going to slow down & try to do a few more fall activities before it’s alll about Christmas 😉 Yesterday was 2 months until Christmas so it’s officially appropriate to listen to Christmas music, & Jessie James Decker just released a Christmas album so you know what I’ll be doing today 🙂

Phoenix Fashion Week

Hey guys!!

I wanted to tell you guys about Phoenix Fashion Week! It was this weekend & I am so, so lucky to have the opportunities that I do! A couple of years ago I could’ve never imagined sitting (almost) front row at a big fashion show & walking the red carpet & interacting & connecting with designers, models & influencers! But here I am 🙂

So for starters, I felt reallllyy out of place. I do not own one designer thing. And honestly, I’m okay with that! It’s not really my style. But I showed up in my Target pants & Madewell top & acted like I knew what I was doing, but in all reality I was a little intimidated! I had been to Fashion Week before here in AZ, but I went in the spring & I went with someone who was already involved in the fashion industry in Phoenix, so I didn’t have to try that hard to network.

The fashion show itself was amazing though! They always feature a lot of up & coming designers which I think is really unique. The clothes were also not thattt outlandish. One of the designers is only 20!! I can’t imagine having a successful clothing line right now, let alone having my designs featured in a show. But it was really inspiring & I left feeling more comfortable than when I arrived. I would highly recommend going to a fashion show (even a small one) if you’re interested because fashion is honestly it’s very own culture. But everyone is super creative & hardworking, which I loveee.

This event was just another reminder to me that I am so happy & lucky that I get to do these kinds of things! And another reminder that hard work really does pay off!!

with love,

jazz

Chic of the Week

Hi guys! Happy Friday!

I finally went to a pumpkin patch last weekend & I had a full-on photoshoot! I am lovinnngggg this sweater! It’s really light so perfect for places like AZ that don’t really get that cold. I ordered it from Luca + Grae, one of my favorite shops! The skirt is from Buffalo Exchange & I’ve talked about it a couple of times. One of my best thrifting finds! I think the boots are from Rue21 like forever ago. I have to admit I liked that place in middle school… I’ve linked a cooler pair 😉 I’m not sure where the beret is from because I got it as a gift, but it’s seriously SO cute!

CaseApp Collab

GUYS! This is my most exciting post ever! I got a collaboration with CaseApp! I have seriously loved their cases & products for so long. When they reached out to me about collaborating, I was beyond excited. I had the choice of designing a custom iphone case or laptop skin, so of course I made two iPhone cases for my mom & I because she’s basically my bestie. 🙂 Their products are super high quality & they have so many choices for cases & skins if you don’t want to make your own. I decided to design some because I just love anything graphic design/DIY. You can add pictures & everything, so they would make great gifts for the holidays coming up! You can use my code JASLYN20 to get 20% off until October 26, & check out my Instagram to enter a giveaway for a chance to win a free product from caseapp.com!

Chic of the Week

Hey guys! It’s finally the weekend! It seemed like the longest week ever, even though I got a day off from school.

I wore this look to work yesterday! I know there’s a “rule” that says don’t wear white after Labor Day, but fashion rules are meant to be broken, because if they weren’t, style would not be a thing. SO that’s to say that yes, I did wear white pants, BUT it’s totally okay. I got them awhile ago at Gap. The top is a unique top that I found at a boutique in Flagstaff. So unfortunately, I can’t link the exact one, but I did my best to find something similar. The shoes are my Tucci’s (Target Guccis) & they are my favorite pair of shoes ever. They are so easy to style!

In other news, I’m finally going to do some fall activities this weekend! I’m going to the fair tonight & then a pumpkin patch with my roomies on Sunday 🙂 I’m also going to be doing lots of studying because I started another class this week & it’s a lot of work & I’m already stressed & sad lol

Kat Von D Lock It Foundation & Concealer Review

Hey guys! Happy Monday! I’m currently on Fall Break from school, so I decided to do another casual beauty review. My last one was superrrr popular! I think I got the most likes ever on that blog post! Today I’ll be talking about the Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation & concealer. I’m really not much of a foundation gal, but this one is really light & doesn’t feel caked on. I hate feeling like I’m wearing tons of makeup. The concealer is great too & doesn’t crease, which is SO important to me. As long as it lasts all day, brightens up my eyes & kinda hides the bags under my eyes, it’s a good concealer! The Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Crème does all of those things & pairs really well with the foundation. You get full coverage, but nothing crazy ridiculous. 10/10 would recommend…

Chic of the Week

Hello & happy Friday!

I am soo happy because it’s finally sweater weather! It has been cool & rainy in Phoenix this week & I’m actually in love. Making me think that maybe I could live in Seattle!

The top is from Charming Charlie & I want to say I got it a couple of years ago. But the bell sleeves are still in style, so I’ve linked something similar below. The pants are LC Lauren Conrad & the shoes were actually my grandmas! I seriously get so many compliments whenever I wear them, so I did my best to find a similar pair.

We get a couple of days off school for fall break this week so I’m excited about that. I’m going to Sedona tomorrow & then my friend is getting marrrieeddd on Sunday!! I’ll still try to have a post up on Monday for you guys 🙂 I’m thinking another beauty review!

Canada Recap

Hi guys!!

This post is a long time coming. In case you didn’t know, I went to Canada this summer! We spent time in Vancouver & Victoria. Both places are so beautiful!

We started our trip from Washington, driving through the border & then staying in/near Vancouver. I honestly can’t quite remember details like that because we were all over the place!  But I know we took a fair amount of ferry rides, & that was super cool (& cold). In Vancouver, we went to Stanley Park. It’s a beautiful park right in the heart of the city! It’s a great place to walk, bike, run, picnic… whatever! It has great views of the city & is hugeee so you could honestly spend an entire day just exploring different parts of the park!

Gastown, Vancouver is another great place to explore. The streets are literally cobblestone & wind up & down. There are a lot of little shops & Instagrammable streets. Gastown Steam Clock is a huge tourist attraction, & it sits right on the street corner.

In Victoria, there is TONS to do!! We started our day at Habit Coffee in downtown Victoria. It was one of the top spots I found while browsing Pinterest for places to visit. I got a London Fog for the first time ever & it was sooo yummy. Then we made our way to Fan Tan Alley. I read somewhere it’s the smallest alley in the world! There are shops inside the alley, but it’s cool to just walk through, especially at night!

As with most big cities, we visited China Town. There wasn’t a ton to see, but a lot of street markets & Chinese architecture. Fisherman’s Wharf is also a must-see!! There are FLOATING HOMES. Seriously the coolest, cutest things. The wharf has a lot of fun places to eat, & colorful buildings great for pics. At night, the city is honestly so sleepy, but the Parliament of British Columbia is really neat to see because it is lined with lights! Major home inspo honestly.

We also made a stop at Beacon Hill Park, which is in the middle of the city, but you’d never guess! There were peacocks everywhere & it was the craziest thing I had ever seen! It is a great place for pictures if you can’t make it to Butchart Gardens. But I would HIGHLY recommend going to Butchart because there is endless Instagram potential. Also, more future home garden inspo. Half of my pictures from the trip were taken there!

I was so excited to visit Canada because we’re neighbors lol but it was prettier than I could have imagined! I am for sure adding it to my list of fave places to visit. I want to go back & go to Banff!!

Have you ever been to Canada? Let me know in the comments or DM me on social!

with love,
