Guys! It’s finally been cool out! And, it’s officially Christmas time because Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is just pre-Christmas in my book… I think my roomies & I are gonna put up our tree this weekend! But, I wanted to show you all my Halloween costume for this year before my blog gets taken over by winter wear!
I was a lifeguard this Halloween & I know that’s pretty basic, but I was actually a lifeguard at one point in high school so I think it’s actually pretty relevant. AND I already had the stuff to make it work. I was also Pam from “The Office” & Jake dressed up as Jim so that was pretty cute too.
I hope you all had an awesome Halloween! I actually went trick or treating for the first time in a long time & yeah I know, I’m almost 20, but who doesn’t want free candy?? P.S. I know this isn’t exactly “chic” lol so it doesn’t fit with “Chic of the Week”, but I thought you guys might want to see it! Next week you can expect a cute winter outfit because it’s finally cooling off in Phoenix! Wahoo!
I look for any excuse to try out a Pinterest craft & I found this easy idea for Halloween!
I took white copy paper & wrapped it around a clean can & tucked the access paper into the can, to cover the sharp edges. I taped the flaps of paper in the back too. Then I drew eyes & a mouth on with black sharpie. I filled it with candy & ta-da! Easy way to make your friends smile. I’ll list the supplies below:
This week’s look shares a piece from last week’s outfit: this denim skirt from Forever21. I’m trying to dress like fall despite the 90 degree weather, so I paired some booties with a yellow shirt from Aéropostale. (Ignore how frumpy it looks; I promise it didn’t look that way on me!) I actually got a lot of compliments on this look, which always brightens my day 🙂 I think one of the best compliments someone could give me is that they like my style!!
Anyway, I have a busy, but fun weekend ahead! Enjoy your halloweekend & be safe guys 😉 And don’t forget to check out my last post for an easy & festive DIY!
Fall is in full swing right now! If you’re anything like me, you’ve already completed half of the items on your fall bucket list. Over Fall Break, my friend & I went to the cutest little pumpkin patch & picked out little white pumpkins to decorate! I had seen this idea on Pinterest & just had to try it! It was super easy & cheap! You need literally 2 items:
I got creative with mine & added more color & even some glitter, but using just a black marker would look festive too. Have fun with it!!
What’s on your fall bucket list? Let me know in the comments or on social media!
This week’s outfit is one of my favorites. If I’m being honest, I kind of put it together last minute for class, but I really like how it turned out. I even put a cardigan on over it because my classrooms are freezing.
I got the top from Aeropostale a long time ago when it was the best place ever. There was an outlet where I used to live so I was that 6th grade girl who rocked the Aeropostale graphic tee’s. (You know what I’m talking about.) But this top still fits because let’s be honest, I haven’t grown much since the 6th grade either The denim skirt is from Forever21 & I got it last year. It is super soft & not too tight & uncomfortable like some skirts. I forget if I’ve talked about the shoes yet, but they are from Luca+Grae, one of my fav online shops ever. Seriously, I want everything because it is just my style.
In other news, Halloween is next weekend! I’m so excited. My friend & I are dressing up like Marilyn Monroe & Audrey Hepburn. It’s going to be so cute! I’ll have to post some pics 😉
Fall Break was soooo good! It was honestly just what I needed. I went up north to visit Jacob & actually have some cool weather. I mentioned it in my Chic of the Week last week, & I said that if I did enough cool stuff I would do a Fall Break recap on here so I made it a priority to do stuff! Not that I didn’t do a lot of laying around & watching The Office. (That show never gets old…) I also ate my body weight in candy corn, but hey, it’s October so I think there are no excuses…
On Saturday, Jacob & I went to the Grand Canyon. It’s only a few hours from where he lives so it was the perfect little road trip. He had never seen it before & you can’t live in Arizona & not see it! He thought the “big hole in the ground” was pretty neat. We found the perfect spot to take some pics that wasn’t overly crowded with tourists. Although Jake gave me a heart attack climbing the rocks! I would consider myself adventurous, but after hanging out with him, I think I take that back… Anyway, a super nice tourist took the pic of us overlooking the canyon together & it’s about to become my new favorite picture of us 🙂 After exploring the edge of the cliff (somewhat unwillingly on my part) we walked around for a bit & then headed out. For dinner that night, we went to a super cute 50’s-inspired diner. Made me want to go back in time… the food was super good, but the atmosphere was even better!
On Sunday, I hung out with my best friend from high school! Our friendship is a whole blog post in itself. But we always do the most extra stuff together! She’s always down to adventure & try new things & I love it. She took me to the local’s favorite coffee shop & then we went to the farmer’s market & walked around town. There were so many cute boutiques, I could’ve gone broke. I did buy one thing… I’ll do a Chic of the Week to show you guys! We also found a little pumpkin patch & took some pics & even bought little pumpkins to decorate! (Expect an easy, DIY fall idea on the blog soon!) Super successful Sunday 🙂
Jacob had class on Monday so I just hung out & blogged! It was a super chill break, but it was spent with people I love & I think that’s the best way to spend time. I didn’t want to leave, but unfortunately, I had school the rest of the week! But I get to see them both soon for Halloween. And eat more candy corn…
Hope you guys enjoyed this post! I love talking about my trips & giving you guys a look inside what I like to do for fun.
This week’s outfit is the first fall look I’ve talked about & I’m sooo excited!
The top is from Forever21 & I got it last season. Not-so-funny story; I bought a sweater just like this one at Forever21 & then after the first few washes, it got a huge hole in the front! I thought about trying to sew it, but I didn’t want it to look ghetto, so I just ordered another one. Not gonna lie, I liked the first one better! It was softer & was kind of cropped, but loose, so it was perfect for Phoenix winters. But I guess that’s what I get for shopping at Forever21… I’m still a frequent customer. And it was only like $10 so I’m not that bothered, but still!! Anyway, this one is soft & cozy too! I’ll link a similar one down below. The pants are from the LC Lauren Conrad collection. These are actually a recent purchase because I needed new jeans! They’re honestly kind of big, but that’s the style. I’ve talked about the booties I’m wearing before, but I’ll link a similar pair down below. To find the pants I’m wearing, check out my OOTW from a few weeks ago.
This was a short week for me because it was my fall break! Kinda ready for the semester to be over though…
Here’s a sneak peek into the things I keep in my school bag! Other than my laptop, glasses & notebooks, I try to keep it really simple because it gets heavy! I also put my lunch in my backpack so I don’t have a lot of space.
keys & student ID
That’s it! Like I said, the more stuff I have, the harder it is to find things & keep track of stuff. Hope this gives you guys some inspo as to what to pack in your own bag!
What are your must-haves for class? Let me know in the comments or DM me on social media!
I’ve decided to do a few things differently with my outfit of the week: one, I’ll post some outfit pics like this one because it’s hard to get someone to take my pic every week so this way I don’t always have to depend on others & worry about not having a look every Friday! And two, I’m going to start calling it ‘Chic of the Week’ because why not?! Cute & unique.
This week’s look is a top from Charming Charlie that I got last year. It is a perfect transition top for fall because it’s light, but also has sleeves. And when you live in a place that is still 90 degrees in October, but you still want to dress cute like the rest of the country, you pull out a top like this. The bell sleeves with a slit are really in right now too! So although my exact top is probably not available anymore, you can find a similar one 🙂 My jean shorts are from H&M which you guys should know already because I talk about them all. the. time. I’m not sure where my sandals are from because I think they’re a few years old. You could also pair this look with ankle boots or flats.
In other news, I’m currently en route to a cooler place for Fall Break! I’m going to spend time with my boo & I think we’re gonna go to the Grand Canyon! I’ve been there once & he’s never been soooo we’re gonna go check it out. I also might do a little Fall Break Recap on here if I end up doing enough cool stuff 😉
I know I just did a post about an easy school morning breakfast, so I decided to go along the same lines & give you guys some easy lunches you can pack for work or school!
Salad, hummus & crackers
Pasta salad, protein bar
Wrap, homemade fries
Rice with grilled chicken &/or veggies
I usually just switch between all of these combos. I prep my lunch the night before so I can just run out the door. I also save a lot of money by not eating out all the time. Some weeks I have salad most days, others I’ll eat leftovers, but for the most part, this is what you can expect to see in my lunch bag!
What do you guys like to eat for lunch? Let me know in the comments or on social media!
