Chic of the Week

Hey guys! Happy Friday 🙂

This week’s Chic of the Week is from my PNW vacation! I was literally so cold the entire trip. I don’t like being cold!! And yet, I’m way to excited for fall & Halloween & Thanksgiving & Christmas… Also, this was taken in front of FLOATING HOMES. How cool is that?? It made me want to pick up my life & go live on the water.

The sweater is from H&M, but it’s a couple of years old. I’m really digging rainbow sweaters for this season! The pants are thrifted Levi’s & I would say they are my best thrift purchase to date. They fit so well & are high waisted & cropped, which are the only kind of pant I wear. They are super cute paired with a belt. The shoes are white mules from Target 🙂

I feel like I’m finally, kinda-sorta getting my life together. Four weeks into school 🙂 Better late than never though! I had a super fun weekend in Houston last week for a wedding, & tomorrow I’m going to brunch & a football game! Best way to spend the weekend if you ask me! I’m also going to finish the travel diary from my trip. I’m like a month late but… it’s fine.

Chic of the Week

Hey guys!

I think this is my last outfit pic from vacation 😦 I just really want to go back!! The top & shoes are from Target (imagine that) & I’ve talked about the shorts a million times because they are the only pair I own. I got the top when I was shopping for my internship because I have to dress professional, but I was so afraid of losing my style! I am not a black slacks kinda lady, so I was super excited to find a top like this & a lot of other items that I want to wear! I think I’ll actually do a whole post about this, because I know I’m not the only one that doesn’t like dressing “business”. There are so many ways to be cute & professional!

This pic was taken at a lavender farm we found in Washington!! It was so beautiful. I plan to do a whole post about our trip & all the must-sees, but SCHOOL. Really stressing me out. I just want to sit in my pajamas & blog all day…

Podcasts I’m Loving

Good morning guys & happy Monday!

I thought I would share my favorite podcasts with you guys today. Some Monday motivation! I like to listen to podcasts on the podcast app for iphone, but there are also some great ones on Spotify! I like to listen to them while I’m getting ready or cleaning around the house.

I never used to be into podcasts, until I started listening to What We Said by Jaci Smith & Chelsey Curtis. They are soo funny & real. They are both in their young 20’s & super relatable. I find myself smiling when I’m listening to them because it reminds me of my friends & I when we’re together. They talk about all kinds of topics, from young relationships, body image, social media, health, motivation…

Another fave of mine is The Influencer Podcast. I have only listened to a couple episodes, but I have learned so much! If you’re an entrepreneur or want to learn more about the work that gets into running a successful business or being an influencer, this one is perfect!

Gals on the Go is another podcast by a girl who’s about my age, so it’s super relatable. She also just so happens to be one of my favorite YouTubers. She is humble & so down to earth, so I love listening because I value her opinion!

Young, Dumb & 21 by Joey Kidney is so funny. He pretty much says whatever is on his mind & it gets pretty real, but relatable.

Last but not least, I really like listening to the Joel Osteen Podcast. The sermons are short & sweet, but I haven’t found one yet that I haven’t related to in some way or another. I try to listen to a couple every week & take time to just slow down & listen. 🙂

What’s your favorite podcast? Send me recs in the comments below or DM me on social!

Chic of the Week

Hey guys! Happy Friday 🙂

This week’s Chic of the Week is kind of old. I shot this look during the summer right before I went to go see Jurassic World 3! (It was pretty good.)

The dress is thrifted, but originally from Forever21. I think I got the shoes at Charming Charlies awhile back, but they are super popular & go with pretty much everything! As always, check out the “Shop this Look” section for links.

This week I have been soooo crazy busy. It was my first week of classes, work, my internship, & club meetings. I feel like I haven’t been home for more than a minute & I definitely don’t think I’ve been breathing lol. I literally just sat down & wrote down everything I’m doing & decided to narrow it down to my priorities & the things I really love, because I don’t want to burn myself out! I get sick when I get stressed & I can’t afford that. I’m trying to slow down & remind myself that I don’t have to do it all 🙂 So here’s your reminder too! Self care is important. Put yourself & your health first; resume second.

Chic of the Week

Omigosh guys.

It’s been sooo long since I’ve sat down to write! I decided to take some time off because I was going through something in my personal life & traveling & packing to move. I only want to write quality content, so I’m back & ready to take time to write again.

I decided to do a “12 Things” along with my Chic of the Week, to fill you guys in on my life. So much has happened in the past month, it’s WILD.

First, outfit details!! This dress is actually thrifted from Buffalo Exchange. It can be easily dressed up or down. For example, I’m wearing it with sneakers in this picture, but I’ve also worn it to work with heels! It’s also a wrap dress, so super trendy. I’ve linked a similar one in the “Shop this Look” section. The shoes are my go-to white sneakers. Linked below as always!

Now, for the TEA.

1.) I’m a junior in college!! I seriously can’t believe it. Time has gone by so fast & I never want it to end. I start classes on Monday & I’m not ready!!

2.) I joined a blogger Instagram group earlier this summer & have made so many online friends because of it! I love the Internet & how it brings people together 🙂

3.) I moved into my new apartment a week ago! I’m living with my best friend from high school & her friend. I think we’re going to have so much fun together!

4.) I got blonde highlights in my hair! I really like it so far. At first I was like, what did I just do, but it’s already grown on me & I really like it! I wanted to do balayage, but decided to start slow to see if I like it, so we’ll see.

5.) I also got my hair cut & I think it’s the shortest it’s ever been, but it’s CUTE. Why did no one tell me I look better with short hair?

6.) My trip to Canada was AMAZING. I plan to do a travel post with all the things to see & do. It is such a beautiful (& cold) country.

7.) I went to Seattle for the second time this summer & I fell in love with it all over again. I just love the pacific northwest, but it is such a cool city. I can see myself there some day…

8.) I got a new planner from Target! The only reason I like going back to school is the excuse to buy a new, cute planner & organize my life. I can pretend like I have everything together.

9.) I finally found the career for me! In high school, I loved student council, & got so excited to plan school events & organize assemblies, & I remember thinking I wanted a job where I got to do the same things. Well, yesterday at work I ended up painting posters for an event we’re having next week, which is all I used to do in stuco…

10.) I have really been enjoying podcasts lately! I might do a post with some of my favorites, but for now, I love “What We Said” by blogger Jaci Smith & her friend!

11.) My boyfriend of 3 years & I broke up. That is the reason I stopped writing. I was, & still am, confused & sad, so the last thing I felt like doing was writing. Might do a post later, but I’m not even sure what I would say. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I keep telling myself all of this is for a reason 🙂

12.) I spilt coffee ALL OVER my new white shirt & white yoga pants this morning. Great start to my weekend!!

Where I’m Going

Hi guys!

Today’s post is going to be a little different.

I have been going through some things in my personal life that I don’t feel ready to talk about yet, but it’s been distracting me from keeping up with blogging, & pretty much everything else in my life.

I am going to take a few weeks off from creating content. I love this blog & I love being able to write & help you guys out! It just doesn’t feel right to talk about my favorite hair products when I’m actually not worried about my hair at all. I am in the process of moving, & I’ll be traveling soon & won’t have Wifi access anyway, so I think this is a good time for me to take a break.

I try so hard to keep up with blogging & creating content for social, but sometimes I just don’t feel like it. I want to be genuine & real because I want you guys to know that my life is far from perfect.

I know that I don’t owe anyone an explanation, but I wanted you guys to know that I haven’t forgot about my blog! Writing is my stress relief, but lately it has seemed more like a chore & one more thing to worry about. I never want it to be that way!

I have lots of exciting things happening for this blog & in my life. I look forward to where this is taking me & everything happening. I can’t wait to share where I’m going 🙂

See you in a couple weeks with lots of vacation pics!!

Roadtrip Favorites

Hey guys!

Today I wanted to share my favorite products to use/bring on a road trip! I have a huge one coming up in a couple of weeks, so I’ve been preparing for awhile.

Flying is just so expensive & there is so much more to see when you drive! The long hours are hard, & I age about 5 years every trip, but the memories are amazing. These products are what get me through it all!

I will link all of the products down below so you can get one of your own!

Microfiber Neck Pillow

Xhilaration Casual Socks

AEO Lightweight Fleece Jogger

Purederm Collegan Eye Patches

Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones

ban.do Work it Out gym bag

Vans Old Skool Plus Backpack

That’s pretty much it! I like to take a backpack in the car with me as a carry-on with fuzzy socks, my charger, snacks (my favorite are Kind bars!) & a reusable water bottle. The neck pillow is the exact one I use, as well as the eye patches! They work amazing for getting those post-flight/long car ride under eye bags gone.

I hope this helps you guys be comfy & prepared for your next long trip! What are your favorite things to do on a road trip to kill time in the car? Let me know in the comments please!!

Chic of the Week

Hi guys! Happy weekend!

I am super excited for this post because everyone needs this dress! I found it at Target & it was kind of an impulse buy. I didn’t need it, but I was browsing the clothes (bad idea) & had to try it on. As soon as I put it on, I knew I needed it. I also tried on a bathing suit that I thought was so cute & thought about getting every time I went to Target, BUT it just didn’t look good on me. Another fun fact: I hate trying on clothes! It’s such a chore. I was with my mom so she told me to try it on & I’m glad she made me because there are a lot of clothes that haven’t fit the best just because I refused to try them on. Learn from my mistakes.

The story behind these pics is kind of funny! My roomie & I went thrift shopping (& I found $15 Levi’s!! Post coming soon…) & we saw these bushes on the side of the road so we decided to have a mini photoshoot! It was literally right by a main street & in a restaurant parking lot, but the lighting was so good. She’s also a photographer, so they turned out AMAZING. Any place is Instagrammable if you try hard enough!

How to get that Summer Glow

Hi Guys!

I wanted to share my essentials for getting that summer glow! I have been getting so many compliments on my tan & I want to share what I do so you guys can glow & thrive 🙂

First things first, WEAR SUNSCREEN. My absolute favorite is Hawaiian Tropics. It smells like coconuts & has a slight shimmer. It’s a light formula, so I never feel sticky! Fun fact: I hated wearing sunscreen as a kid because I didn’t like the smell & gross feel of it! I have linked the exact one that I use & it’s perfect. It has just enough to protection for my skin, but allows me to soak up the sunshine to get a tan.

After I put on sunscreen, I lather on the tanning oil. I like to use Banana Boat Protective Tanning Oil. It contains sunscreen as well, so there is some protection.

To be honest, I’ve always had an on/off relationship with tanning. When I was in high school, all I wanted was to be DARK no matter what it took. I was a lifeguard & then spent time tanning even on my days off. I probably didn’t always take precautions like I should of because I was so focused on just getting tan. I have thought about getting spray tans, but they seem like so much maintenance. But I have finally realized the importance of sunscreen & don’t go tanning without it! Being tan is amazing, but not at the expense of your health!

Do you get spray tans, or like to tan naturally? Let me know in the comments or DM on social! I’m really curious about spray tans & the cost/maintenance of them, so please let me know!!

jazz
