Chic of the Week

Hello & happy Friday!

I am soo happy because it’s finally sweater weather! It has been cool & rainy in Phoenix this week & I’m actually in love. Making me think that maybe I could live in Seattle!

The top is from Charming Charlie & I want to say I got it a couple of years ago. But the bell sleeves are still in style, so I’ve linked something similar below. The pants are LC Lauren Conrad & the shoes were actually my grandmas! I seriously get so many compliments whenever I wear them, so I did my best to find a similar pair.

We get a couple of days off school for fall break this week so I’m excited about that. I’m going to Sedona tomorrow & then my friend is getting marrrieeddd on Sunday!! I’ll still try to have a post up on Monday for you guys 🙂 I’m thinking another beauty review!

Canada Recap

Hi guys!!

This post is a long time coming. In case you didn’t know, I went to Canada this summer! We spent time in Vancouver & Victoria. Both places are so beautiful!

We started our trip from Washington, driving through the border & then staying in/near Vancouver. I honestly can’t quite remember details like that because we were all over the place!  But I know we took a fair amount of ferry rides, & that was super cool (& cold). In Vancouver, we went to Stanley Park. It’s a beautiful park right in the heart of the city! It’s a great place to walk, bike, run, picnic… whatever! It has great views of the city & is hugeee so you could honestly spend an entire day just exploring different parts of the park!

Gastown, Vancouver is another great place to explore. The streets are literally cobblestone & wind up & down. There are a lot of little shops & Instagrammable streets. Gastown Steam Clock is a huge tourist attraction, & it sits right on the street corner.

In Victoria, there is TONS to do!! We started our day at Habit Coffee in downtown Victoria. It was one of the top spots I found while browsing Pinterest for places to visit. I got a London Fog for the first time ever & it was sooo yummy. Then we made our way to Fan Tan Alley. I read somewhere it’s the smallest alley in the world! There are shops inside the alley, but it’s cool to just walk through, especially at night!

As with most big cities, we visited China Town. There wasn’t a ton to see, but a lot of street markets & Chinese architecture. Fisherman’s Wharf is also a must-see!! There are FLOATING HOMES. Seriously the coolest, cutest things. The wharf has a lot of fun places to eat, & colorful buildings great for pics. At night, the city is honestly so sleepy, but the Parliament of British Columbia is really neat to see because it is lined with lights! Major home inspo honestly.

We also made a stop at Beacon Hill Park, which is in the middle of the city, but you’d never guess! There were peacocks everywhere & it was the craziest thing I had ever seen! It is a great place for pictures if you can’t make it to Butchart Gardens. But I would HIGHLY recommend going to Butchart because there is endless Instagram potential. Also, more future home garden inspo. Half of my pictures from the trip were taken there!

I was so excited to visit Canada because we’re neighbors lol but it was prettier than I could have imagined! I am for sure adding it to my list of fave places to visit. I want to go back & go to Banff!!

Have you ever been to Canada? Let me know in the comments or DM me on social!

Chic of the Week

Happy Friday!

I saw something the other day that was called “blogger bingo” & it was a bingo board, but full of sayings & things that typical bloggers do. One of them was, “saying Happy Friday too much” & I was like, GUILTY!! But it seems like the most appropriate way to introduce these posts so I’m going to keep doin what I’m doin.

This week’s look is super casual, but lately that’s what I’ve been going for! In high school I really liked dressing up every day, but I’ve found I’m a lot more comfortable in simple outfits. It’s such a good feeling when you finally define your style!

For this look, you just need any graphic tee or t-shirt. I actually got this shirt on my trip to Hawaii this summer!! (Check out the video here if you haven’t already 😉 ) I cut it to make it edgy lol. I put it with my thrifted Levis, & my Chic Wish List necklace & brown sandals.

My Favorite Foundation + Primer

I am so excited for today’s post! I am sharing my favorite primer & foundation from Covergirl. I have seriously worn Covergirl since I started wearing makeup in like, 8th grade. It is high quality, but inexpensive! I was sent these products by Influenster in exchange for some posts & I couldn’t be happier! I normally don’t wear foundation (swear by BB cream), but I gave this one a shot & actually liked it! It’s not too heavy & has all day coverage which is a MUST for me. The primer has become my go-to. Primer is so important in order to make your makeup go on smoothly & leave a nice finish, but I hadn’t found one that I really loved & found to work. But this one goes on smooth & clears redness, which I need. The truBLEND Base Business Face Primer & truBLEND Matte Made Foundation Liquid Foundation are the perfect pair!! 🙂 Available wherever Covergirl is sold.

Chic of the Week

Happy Friday guys!!

This week’s Chic of the Week is one of my work looks! I have to dress professional, but I still find ways to express my style & be comfortable. My outfit makes a big difference in my confidence, so it’s especially important when I’m at my internship.

The top is thrifted, but originally from Madewell. They’re having a sale right now that you don’t want to miss… take 25% off new season essentials! I love Madewell’s style, so I was excited to find this cute top. It is also in my favorite color – light pink! The pants are so super comfy & they’re from Target. It’s like wearing pajamas to work! The shoes are probably my most worn pair because they go with everything. They’ve been deemed my “Tucci’s” because I used to call them my Guccis, but they’re from Target hahahah

Tomorrow is the first day of fall & to say I’m excited is an understatement. I can finally drink pumpkin spice lattes without being too judged.

Pacific Northwest Travel Diary

Guys!! My travel vlog from this summer is finally up! I think it turned out really well. I can’t remember all the places we went, but Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, & Victoria are all for sure in this video. I love the PNW (I even got a candle that smells like the PNW forest at Pikes Place Market in Seattle) so making this video was so fun for me. Seattle is my favorite place to visit, & I’ll be adding Canada to that list after this trip. Anyway, enough from me! Enjoy!

Chic of the Week

Hey guys! Happy Friday!

No, I didn’t forget about my Chic of the Week! I just had a busy morning. I went to yoga & then work & then I got coffee with my mommy! I’m just now sitting down to write, so here I am, live & in action!

This week’s look is my attempt at a transition outfit. Unfortunately for me, I’m in Arizona where it won’t feel like fall until November! But I can’t complain because I love being warm. This skirt is from Buffalo Exchange, & it is my favorite place to thrift. They are very picky about what they take, so it is a lot of high quality, high-end clothing, but for lower the price! This top is also from there, but originally from Topshop. My favorite way to add personality to an outfit is with a pop of color! That’s why I chose to wear light blue sandals. I got them at Charming Charlie a long time ago, but they are still super in. Get them while they’re on sale!

I want to start doing my Peak & Pit every week on here! For those of you that don’t watch Keeping up with the Kardashian’s, it’s where they talk about the highlight of their week & then the worst part of their week. I think it would be a fun way to talk to you guys, so let me know in the comments your peak & pit 🙂

Peak:  I got pumpkin pie pop tarts at the grocery store this week. Went in for one thing & came out with a bunch of things I don’t need! But all in the name of fall amiright?

Pit: School. I’m honestly over it lol

Chic of the Week

Hey guys! Happy Friday 🙂

This week’s Chic of the Week is from my PNW vacation! I was literally so cold the entire trip. I don’t like being cold!! And yet, I’m way to excited for fall & Halloween & Thanksgiving & Christmas… Also, this was taken in front of FLOATING HOMES. How cool is that?? It made me want to pick up my life & go live on the water.

The sweater is from H&M, but it’s a couple of years old. I’m really digging rainbow sweaters for this season! The pants are thrifted Levi’s & I would say they are my best thrift purchase to date. They fit so well & are high waisted & cropped, which are the only kind of pant I wear. They are super cute paired with a belt. The shoes are white mules from Target 🙂

I feel like I’m finally, kinda-sorta getting my life together. Four weeks into school 🙂 Better late than never though! I had a super fun weekend in Houston last week for a wedding, & tomorrow I’m going to brunch & a football game! Best way to spend the weekend if you ask me! I’m also going to finish the travel diary from my trip. I’m like a month late but… it’s fine.

Chic of the Week

Hey guys!

I think this is my last outfit pic from vacation 😦 I just really want to go back!! The top & shoes are from Target (imagine that) & I’ve talked about the shorts a million times because they are the only pair I own. I got the top when I was shopping for my internship because I have to dress professional, but I was so afraid of losing my style! I am not a black slacks kinda lady, so I was super excited to find a top like this & a lot of other items that I want to wear! I think I’ll actually do a whole post about this, because I know I’m not the only one that doesn’t like dressing “business”. There are so many ways to be cute & professional!

This pic was taken at a lavender farm we found in Washington!! It was so beautiful. I plan to do a whole post about our trip & all the must-sees, but SCHOOL. Really stressing me out. I just want to sit in my pajamas & blog all day…

Podcasts I’m Loving

Good morning guys & happy Monday!

I thought I would share my favorite podcasts with you guys today. Some Monday motivation! I like to listen to podcasts on the podcast app for iphone, but there are also some great ones on Spotify! I like to listen to them while I’m getting ready or cleaning around the house.

I never used to be into podcasts, until I started listening to What We Said by Jaci Smith & Chelsey Curtis. They are soo funny & real. They are both in their young 20’s & super relatable. I find myself smiling when I’m listening to them because it reminds me of my friends & I when we’re together. They talk about all kinds of topics, from young relationships, body image, social media, health, motivation…

Another fave of mine is The Influencer Podcast. I have only listened to a couple episodes, but I have learned so much! If you’re an entrepreneur or want to learn more about the work that gets into running a successful business or being an influencer, this one is perfect!

Gals on the Go is another podcast by a girl who’s about my age, so it’s super relatable. She also just so happens to be one of my favorite YouTubers. She is humble & so down to earth, so I love listening because I value her opinion!

Young, Dumb & 21 by Joey Kidney is so funny. He pretty much says whatever is on his mind & it gets pretty real, but relatable.

Last but not least, I really like listening to the Joel Osteen Podcast. The sermons are short & sweet, but I haven’t found one yet that I haven’t related to in some way or another. I try to listen to a couple every week & take time to just slow down & listen. 🙂

What’s your favorite podcast? Send me recs in the comments below or DM me on social!
