Chic of the Week

Hi guys! Happy weekend!

I am super excited for this post because everyone needs this dress! I found it at Target & it was kind of an impulse buy. I didn’t need it, but I was browsing the clothes (bad idea) & had to try it on. As soon as I put it on, I knew I needed it. I also tried on a bathing suit that I thought was so cute & thought about getting every time I went to Target, BUT it just didn’t look good on me. Another fun fact: I hate trying on clothes! It’s such a chore. I was with my mom so she told me to try it on & I’m glad she made me because there are a lot of clothes that haven’t fit the best just because I refused to try them on. Learn from my mistakes.

The story behind these pics is kind of funny! My roomie & I went thrift shopping (& I found $15 Levi’s!! Post coming soon…) & we saw these bushes on the side of the road so we decided to have a mini photoshoot! It was literally right by a main street & in a restaurant parking lot, but the lighting was so good. She’s also a photographer, so they turned out AMAZING. Any place is Instagrammable if you try hard enough!

Chic of the Week

Hey guys, happy Friday!!

This has seemed like such a crazy, long week! It kind of hit me how quickly summer is going & how much I have to do before school starts. I got stressed for awhile, but I’m trying to enjoy living stress free for as long as possible. Because we all know once the semester starts I’m a hot mess 🙂 Today I’m sharing another look from my staycation because I miss it so much!! I just want to sit by the pool with a shirley temple (or maybe something stronger) 😉

So I actually got this dress at Ross. Before you all freak out, let me just tell you: Stores like Ross & TJ Maxx have so much potential, you just have to look. You can find some gems with enough patience. I’m also not going to lie to you all & say I’m wearing Gucci because we all know that’s not going to happen. Maybe someday I’ll pull up to a Prada storefront with my G Wagon, but today is not that day. So here I am, a fashion blogger, telling you it’s ok to shop at the cheap places.

Fourth of July is already coming up next week! I love dressing festive, so if you’re anything like me, this dress is perfect! I have linked something similar down below so you don’t have to go to your nearest TJ MAXX & raid the racks. And the shoes are the exact ones I have & I love them!!

Happy Friday!

The week has seemed to fly by, which is great because now it’s the weekend! I got back from a staycation on Sunday, so that’s where this pic was taken. They had happy hour every night we were there with snacks (hummus!!) & free drinks. I got a shirley temple & I forgot how yummy they are. They’re also pink & aesthetically pleasing.

So actually a funny story about this jumpsuit: I had been looking EVERYWHERE for a jumpsuit that fit me, but they all had like a foot of material dragging on the ground because I’m 5 foot nothing. So I was kinda sad, but kept looking. My roommate had this jumpsuit & brought it on our spring break trip & I thought it was so cute! Well, she accidentally put it in the dryer & it shrunk :/ so it didn’t fit her anymore & offered to give it to me. It was such a perfect fit that we agreed I could have it! So it all worked out. She got it at Forever21, & although I couldn’t find the exact one on their website, I linked something similar. But hurry, because it’s almost sold out!!

I also linked a similar pair of shoes. The shoes are so comfy & they go with everything, even though they are blue, it’s a neutral in spring & summer. I also used to be OBSESSED with aviator sunglasses in high school. I thought they would make me cool. (They didn’t.) I linked a cheap pair of glasses for you guys too, in case you want to be a cool kid. 😉

Happy summer Friday!!

I am in a 100,000x better mood in the summer. It might just be because I have five iced coffees a day, but we’ll pretend it’s because I don’t have school! I know for sure it’s not the weather, because I do NOT like that. At least not 120 degree weather.

This week’s outfit of the week is a little different; I’m showing you guys my swim suit from Target that I wore in Hawaii! I got so many compliments on it & I find high waisted suits so flattering on every body type. It is so comfy & modest. I love swim suits that are not only cute, but comfortable. There is NOTHING worse than feeling like you are going to have a nip slip every second amiright ladies? Target also has really cute suits for cheap! I feel like there is no such thing as too many suits, so I try to buy a bunch of cheap ones.

Speaking of Hawaii… the moment you all have been waiting for… my Hawaii travel diary is going up next week!! Make sure to check back for that 😉 In the meantime, check out my Hawaii Recap blog post!

Happy long weekend guys!!

P.S. Target is having a swim suit sale right now so hurry!! Literally suits starting at $12.

Happy Friday!

Today’s outfit is actually courtesy of my mommy!! When I moved out for college, she moved some of her stuff into my closet & so when I came home & saw this dress, I had to have it!! It’s crazy how stuff comes back in style! I can’t tell you details on this exact dress, but long floral dresses & jumpsuits are in this season, so go snag one!

I know this is a short post, so I decided to add “12 Things”. I’ve thought about doing it once a month, just to keep you guys updated on my life. So here goes…

1.) Only 3 more weeks of school left!! I am so excited for summer because…

2.) I have a lot of exciting travel plans! I don’t want to say anything yet because nothing is for sure, for sure, but it’s about a 98% chance I’m going to some pretty cool places.

3.) I also got an internship for this summer & fall! My school requires us to do internships for credit (do other schools too??) & so I’m excited to get that going because…

4.) I’m almost halfway through college! When this semester is over, I will only have two years left. I’m not sure how I feel about that.

5.) I got my first OFFICIAL blogger mail from Chic Wish List which has jewelry, clothing & chic purses. I especially like their jewelry, so you will see a post soon.

6.) I mentioned this before, but I recently purchased Aspyn Ovard’s presets for my blog & Instagram! (Make sure to follow along here.) I already love how they make my feed look.

7.) My mom told me that my name was almost Aspyn, spelled the same exact way! She & my dad love the aspen trees of Colorado, so that’s where the inspiration came from 🙂

8.) I’m thinking about switching over my blog to be self hosted. I’m coming upon the year anniversary of starting this blog, so I’m ready to make improvements!

9.) I want to get my hair cut again before summer, & I’m thinking about getting highlights. YAY or NAY? Please help!!

10.) I have finally watched Friends all the way through & it’s so good! I am so attached to the characters. I’ve been told I’m most like Rachel & she’s my fav character!

11.) I bought a new house plant that isn’t a succulent & I feel like it’s going to die & I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong! I water it & keep it in the sun for 4-6 hours per the directions, but it doesn’t look like it’s thriving. So any plant people, please help me.

12.) I am watching The Office & it was just the fake fire scene & I’m dying laughing. Best scene in TV history ever.

Chic of the Week

Happy spring Friday!!

This week’s look is what I wore to the Baked Bear blogging event (which you can read about here). I got lots of compliments on my shoes so I thought I would just share all of the outfit details.

The sweater is actually from my grandma, but the look is one that is very in & easy to accomplish. Go thrifting & buy an oversized sweater or, you could go to your grandma’s closet too! You guys will be shocked to know the shoes are also from her! She would be so happy to know that I love her style (& more evidence that I am, in fact, a 70 year old at heart). The shoes are nice because they are dressy, but not too dressy & have only a slight heel, so my feet weren’t killing me by the end of the night! I’ll link a similar pair here. The jeans are LC Lauren Conrad.

Have a happy weekend!!

Chic of the Week

Hey guys!

This week was actually kinda cold so I was thrown off! I am trying to slowly transition my wardrobe from winter to spring.

I paired my brown corduroy skirt from Buffalo Exchange with a black turtleneck. I don’t know if I’ve ever talked about how much I love turtlenecks, but I do. And it’s funny because I hated them as a kid! But now I think they are so warm & cozy & flattering. And low-key, it’s perfect in the winter for when your makeup doesn’t match the rest of you because you’re not tan! I also got this beret as a birthday gift & it went so cute with this look! I feel so french when I wear it. The shoes are from Forever21, but boots would also look good. And the mug was just an added touch, but isn’t it so cute?! I am obsessed with Harry Potter. (Fun Fact!)

I am currently in California for my Spring Break! It’s kinda cold so I’m sad because I don’t know how much beach time I’ll have, but it’s still something new 🙂

Don’t forget to check out my post from Monday – a Spring Break packing guide!

Chic of the Week

It’s the weekend!

I am so super excited for this week’s Chic of the Week because I’m IN LOVE with these pictures!! I had a photoshoot a couple weeks ago & I have been looking for the perfect time to post these photos & it looks like that time is now. I have also been feeling sick again this week & it’s been super cold so I haven’t been dressing cute.

I recently did a Chic of the Week with this skirt from Buffalo Exchange, but it can be worn with many different things because it’s such a versatile color. I paired it with a white tee & a denim jacket. The t-shirt is from Forever21, per usual. I actually don’t know where I got the booties because I think they were a gift from a couple years ago. But I’ll link a similar pair here. I really like them because they are perfect for dressing up when it’s cooler outside because idk about you guys, but I have a hard time finding cute, comfy winter shoes! I usually live in my slip-ons. The denim jacket is such a staple in my closet, especially this time of year when it’s hot & cold at the same time! I like this one.

These photos were taken by my friend Victor Ren. He is from Vegas & takes super cool pictures! I was actually really nervous about this shoot because I feel awkward in front of the camera sometimes, but he didn’t pressure me to do anything & was super helpful! So if you’re local in Phoenix, hit him uppp. Make sure to check out his Instagram & give him some love. 🙂

Chic of the Week

Helloooo guys!

This week’s Chic of the Week was actually taken in preparation for a Valentine’s outfit post I was going to do, but then I didn’t get to shoot the other looks, so I decided to give you guys outfit deets anyway!

The blouse is from Forever21 & they basically catfished me into getting it because I saw it on their Instagram story or something & was like “wait I need that” so yeah. But it was worth it because it is super cute & colorful & I’ve worn it only a couple of times, but I’ve gotten compliments so that has to mean something right?? The pants are LC Lauren Conrad & I have no feet in this picture so I can’t give you shoe details, but I’m almost 100% positive I was wearing my black mules from Forever21. This is a casual look that could be paired with sneakers or sandals.

This week seemed to go by super quick, but it could be because I’m going up north this weekend to see Jacob & it snowed a bunch so I’m super excited for that! It was cloudy & rainy in Phoenix all week so I got to pretend I lived in Seattle haha!

P.S. I am looking on Amazon for a good suitcase that’s not too expensive & I want white because it looks good, but I feel like it’s just going to get super dirty… so if you have a white, hardcover suitcase, let me know how it works for you…

P.P.S. Jacob took this picture, so can we all just clap for him because I’m going to turn him into an Instagram boyfriend one of these days…

Chic of the Week

Happy Friday!

Today’s Chic of the Week is my attempts at reluctantly transitioning my wardrobe from winter to spring :/ Don’t get me wrong because I love spring, but not quite yet!! It’s only February!

I would look ridiculous if I wore a sweater because it is literally 80 degrees, so I wore a denim jacket over top a simple crop top & paired it with my white high waisted jeans. I chose to wear sandals, but booties would also look good! I also did some simple braids, which is crazyyyy because I normally don’t even touch it, except maybe to spray some dry shampoo because who has time to wash their hair during the week?? Might just have to do a post on this 🙂 Oh, & my choker is from the LC Lauren Conrad collection!

This weekend Jake is coming down for a Valentine’s party & then my roommates & I are going to see the newest 50 Shades of Grey…….

Check back Monday for some Valentine’s Day outfit inspo!
