Chic of the Week

Hi guys!

I’m back from a little getaway to Palm Springs & I’m excited to share some cute looks I shot while there! It was honestly overwhelming because there are so many Instagrammable places, but I tried to just enjoy my time & get photos when I could.

We tried a new coffee shop almost every day we were there hahah this was taken at Ernest, which was also connected to a bar.

Anyway, outfit deets: Tank top is from Target & has become my go-to top this summer. It can be dressed up or down! The pants are from Tilly’s & they are my favorite pair of jeans! So comfy & they have a cute flare leg. The hair clips are also from Target, & I’m honestly so happy they’re coming back in style. I love styling second or third day hair with them. They make it look like I tried!!

I will be posting a full Palm Springs recap with all of the things that we did, places we went, what we ate, etc. so be on the lookout for that!!

Happy Friday guys!!

I took a little day trip last weekend to Prescott, AZ! It was rainy when we first got up there & we almost turned back around, but it’s about an hour & a half away so we gave it another shot & drove into town & I’m so happy we did! It ended up being so fun to walk around the square & go in the shops. My grandparents lived there when I was little, so it’s a place that holds a TON of happy, fun memories. I was feeling very nostalgic.

I was wishing I had worn a more weather-appropriate outfit, but I was planning on a summer roadtrip! The tee is from Urban Outfitters, but I got it last summer, so I don’t think it’s around anymore, but they always have the cutest graphic tees! The shorts are from Target & I got so many compliments on them on my Instagram post! They are cute & high-waisted & the perfect touch to any summer outfit.

I’m off to see the new Lion King movie!! I’ll have to give a review next week 😉

Hey guys!

I have a really great outfit to share today! I am beyond EXCITED to announce I partnered with VS PINK for their Gym to Swim style perfect for summer! The top can be used as a sports bra or for the pool & I’ve actually used it both ways & loved it! The bra isn’t great for high impact activities, but for yoga or weight training it is so cute. The bottoms are a little cheeky to wear to the gym in my opinion & they honestly wouldn’t be too comfy to workout in. The sizing is tricky because maybe if I had sized up they would have a looser fit which I like for the gym, but they are more like spandex. I got a size small in both for reference!

I’ve linked it below so you guys can get one for yourselves! They have so many cute styles I think I need them all!!

Chic of the Week + Life Update

Hi good morning, happy Friday!!

I’m back with another outfit of the week! I actually have a non-Fabletics outfit to share today, but don’t fret, there are more hahaha

Lately I have been LOVING a good graphic tee. They are just so easy to style & I feel like they really show someone’s personality too, which I love. A walking billboard for all the things that make me happy! This cute tee is from Thread Tank & I had such a hard time picking one out because they have so many cute options! The shirt itself is so soft & fits just right. I hate walking around looking like a 12-year-old boy. The pants are thrifted Levis that I’ve talked about a couple of times because they are my best thrift find to date! The shoes are from Target & I’m convinced I can’t go a day without wearing something from there! All the items are linked at the end of this post. 🙂

I thought this would be a good post to give a little life update in since I’ve been MIA. That always happens at the end of the school year. I say I’m going to take a week off & it ends up being like a month. Ooops. But it’s officially summertime so I’m hoping to have more consistent content & just take more time for my blog!

I think part of the reason I just kinda stopped there for a second is that I am/was feeling uninspired. It can be so hard to constantly have to “keep up.” With something like blogging & content creation, there is so much pressure to work, work, work because you won’t get anywhere if you don’t put in the time & effort. I was just burning out & uninterested, especially with school. This isn’t to make excuses, but this is more just me being honest.

I’ve realized that I have been feeling uninspired because I’ve been trying too hard. It was difficult for me to accept that because I never thought of myself as a wanna-be. But it hit me that sometimes I don’t want to share about makeup, or fashion or anything like that, I’d rather just write! About my feelings! Because feelings are great! But forreal, my passion for writing began when I started journaling & just writing about my day & what was on my mind. I started this blog so that I could share those thoughts & I realized I’ve become just another lifestyle blog! And there’s nothing wrong with that because I truly love all things lifestyle & the different aspects of it interest me, but I also sometimes just want to VENT to the internet. Hahah no not really, this is not a diary. But I guess I’m just saying I’m going to start writing about whatever the HECK I want to write about, whether that’s skincare, or another Fabletics outfit, or how I’ve been feeling less than confident. I want to inspire people because I love helping others, & so I think by sharing my struggles or even just talking about the things that bother me, more people will be able to relate. We love a relatable gal!

Anyway, if you’re still reading this, thank you!! It truly makes me so happy when people actually read what I write & enjoy it. I hope to continue to create content that inspires & entertains. 🙂

Chic of the Week

Hi guys!! Happy Friday!

This week’s outfit of the week is one of my favorites for summer! It’s from my favorite online shop Luca + Grae. I got it about a year ago actually so unfortunately it’s out of stock, but I thought I would share something similar & to introduce you guys to Luca + Grae cuz it’s seriously the best! I brought this romper to Hawaii with me & it’s perfect to throw on & go. The tie front detail adds a little fun & the print is so summery!

I posted a Hawaii/spring break recap on Monday so make sure to go check that out for more Hawaii pics & a little story time behind this acai bowl here…

Happy Friday!

I saw something the other day that was called “blogger bingo” & it was a bingo board, but full of sayings & things that typical bloggers do. One of them was, “saying Happy Friday too much” & I was like, GUILTY!! But it seems like the most appropriate way to introduce these posts so I’m going to keep doin what I’m doin.

This week’s look is super casual, but lately that’s what I’ve been going for! In high school I really liked dressing up every day, but I’ve found I’m a lot more comfortable in simple outfits. It’s such a good feeling when you finally define your style!

For this look, you just need any graphic tee or t-shirt. I actually got this shirt on my trip to Hawaii this summer!! (Check out the video here if you haven’t already 😉 ) I cut it to make it edgy lol. I put it with my thrifted Levis, & my Chic Wish List necklace & brown sandals.

Chic of the Week

Hey guys!

I think this is my last outfit pic from vacation 😦 I just really want to go back!! The top & shoes are from Target (imagine that) & I’ve talked about the shorts a million times because they are the only pair I own. I got the top when I was shopping for my internship because I have to dress professional, but I was so afraid of losing my style! I am not a black slacks kinda lady, so I was super excited to find a top like this & a lot of other items that I want to wear! I think I’ll actually do a whole post about this, because I know I’m not the only one that doesn’t like dressing “business”. There are so many ways to be cute & professional!

This pic was taken at a lavender farm we found in Washington!! It was so beautiful. I plan to do a whole post about our trip & all the must-sees, but SCHOOL. Really stressing me out. I just want to sit in my pajamas & blog all day…

Chic of the Week

Hey guys! Happy Friday 🙂

This week’s Chic of the Week is kind of old. I shot this look during the summer right before I went to go see Jurassic World 3! (It was pretty good.)

The dress is thrifted, but originally from Forever21. I think I got the shoes at Charming Charlies awhile back, but they are super popular & go with pretty much everything! As always, check out the “Shop this Look” section for links.

This week I have been soooo crazy busy. It was my first week of classes, work, my internship, & club meetings. I feel like I haven’t been home for more than a minute & I definitely don’t think I’ve been breathing lol. I literally just sat down & wrote down everything I’m doing & decided to narrow it down to my priorities & the things I really love, because I don’t want to burn myself out! I get sick when I get stressed & I can’t afford that. I’m trying to slow down & remind myself that I don’t have to do it all 🙂 So here’s your reminder too! Self care is important. Put yourself & your health first; resume second.

Chic of the Week

Hi guys! Happy weekend!

I am super excited for this post because everyone needs this dress! I found it at Target & it was kind of an impulse buy. I didn’t need it, but I was browsing the clothes (bad idea) & had to try it on. As soon as I put it on, I knew I needed it. I also tried on a bathing suit that I thought was so cute & thought about getting every time I went to Target, BUT it just didn’t look good on me. Another fun fact: I hate trying on clothes! It’s such a chore. I was with my mom so she told me to try it on & I’m glad she made me because there are a lot of clothes that haven’t fit the best just because I refused to try them on. Learn from my mistakes.

The story behind these pics is kind of funny! My roomie & I went thrift shopping (& I found $15 Levi’s!! Post coming soon…) & we saw these bushes on the side of the road so we decided to have a mini photoshoot! It was literally right by a main street & in a restaurant parking lot, but the lighting was so good. She’s also a photographer, so they turned out AMAZING. Any place is Instagrammable if you try hard enough!

Chic of the Week

Hey guys, happy Friday!!

This has seemed like such a crazy, long week! It kind of hit me how quickly summer is going & how much I have to do before school starts. I got stressed for awhile, but I’m trying to enjoy living stress free for as long as possible. Because we all know once the semester starts I’m a hot mess 🙂 Today I’m sharing another look from my staycation because I miss it so much!! I just want to sit by the pool with a shirley temple (or maybe something stronger) 😉

So I actually got this dress at Ross. Before you all freak out, let me just tell you: Stores like Ross & TJ Maxx have so much potential, you just have to look. You can find some gems with enough patience. I’m also not going to lie to you all & say I’m wearing Gucci because we all know that’s not going to happen. Maybe someday I’ll pull up to a Prada storefront with my G Wagon, but today is not that day. So here I am, a fashion blogger, telling you it’s ok to shop at the cheap places.

Fourth of July is already coming up next week! I love dressing festive, so if you’re anything like me, this dress is perfect! I have linked something similar down below so you don’t have to go to your nearest TJ MAXX & raid the racks. And the shoes are the exact ones I have & I love them!!
