This week’s outfit is a light red color (the tag says “berry coral”, but I have no idea what that means) dress. It’s very light & an easy way to look like you put effort into your outfit when really, you crawled out of bed 5 minutes ago…I got it at Target about a month ago. No shame; Target actually has some really cute stuff! I paired it with my most versatile shoe yet for walking around Nashville. You can see more pics from my trip here!
It was another busy week for me. The homework never ends!! But this year I’m trying to focus on having a positive attitude & managing my stress & I think we can all agree we need to work on those!
This week’s outfit of the week is an ultra comfy, but stylish ensemble. I paired a soft off-the-shoulder top with soft denim shorts from Forever21 & of course, the sandals I can’t live without. Some sunnies completed the look. I’ve mentioned all of these items in past OOTW’s, but they are very versatile items & let’s be honest, I can’t afford new clothes every week (although I wish). And since I assume most of you also can’t afford a mall trip every week as well, try taking the same items & adding a new set of jewelry or pair of shoes to create something completely different & unique. I’m kinda into the capsule wardrobe recently…
In other news, I put up my first blog post from vacation! I had a wonderful time & I can’t wait to share more with you all, but I’m focused on moving currently! I also can’t wait to decorate my new apartment & give you all a tour… but that will come much later. For now, go check out my Chicago post & let me know what you think!
For this week’s outfit, I paired a light pink bodysuit from Forever21 with shorts from H&M that I’ve talked about a bunch because I actually love them. I wasn’t sure how to feel about the bodysuit trend, but this one is super comfy & you don’t have to worry about it becoming untucked (idk how to describe it) from your shorts, like you would a t-shirt or tank. Instead of a bodysuit, you could even wear a one piece with shorts for the beach or beginning-of-the- school-year pool parties. I opted for white Keds because I was exploring the Windy City (expect a blog post with lots of pics!!), but I think sneakers are the best shoe for this look. But feel free to play around with it! That’s why I love fashion; there are no rules.
Have a great weekend & don’t forget to read my last post raving about my favorite planners!
This week’s outfit of the week is a grey dress from Forever21 & booties from who-knows-where because I got them so long ago! I will link a similar pair down below though, because trust me, you need a shoe like this. They are so basic & can be worn in the summer or winter!
Recently I’ve been trying to create office appropriate outfits & I’m realizing I don’t have a lot of professional clothes! But I have plenty of time to grow a collection. This dress is modest, but comfy & not too “stuffy” so it’s perfect business-casual wear.
Summer is probably my least favorite time of year in terms of dressing. I feel like no matter what I put on, I’ll just end up sweating & ruining my look. I also live in Arizona where an average day in July could be 115 degrees. So in this post, I present to you the few hacks I have learned for still looking presentable in the dog days of summer.
The top tip I suggest is wearing a bralette or better yet, nothing at all. Bralettes work well with backless dresses if you can’t pull off the no-bra look, & they also don’t have an underwire that causes uncomfortableness & boob sweat. (Don’t even get me started.)
Second tip: wear loose & flowy clothing as much as possible. Peplum tops, t-shirt dresses & cotton shorts are just a few of my go-tos.
Also, wear light colors as much as possible. Not only do light colors not show sweat as much, but technically, they should help keep you cooler.
Most importantly, don’t bother doing your hair. If you live in humidity, you probably already know that. Not only is it a good excuse to give your locks a break, but you don’t have to worry about neck sweat & all that comes with wearing your hair down in the summer. Try a messy ponytail with a bandana like shown here, or easy braids like this one.
Last but not least, minimize your accessories.Limit chunky necklaces, scarves & backpacks. Try thin chokers, bandanas & cross body purses. You’ll thank yourself later!
I hope these tips help y’all! Let me know what you do to minimize sweat this time of year because I would definitely like to know!
